ABSORPTION AND TRANSLOCATION OF RADIOACTIVE 2,4-DICHLORO-5-IODO131-PHENOXYACETIC ACID BY GREEN PLANTS

Abstract
The monocotyledonous plants: corn, wheat, oats and orchard grass (Dactylus glomerata) absorbed the growth-regulating substance 2, 4-dichloro-5-iodol31-phenoxyacetic acid, but to a lesser degree than did the dicotyledonous plants:sunflower, dandelion, bean, and narrow leaved plantain (Plantago lanceolata). The conduction through the plant was also much slower in the monocotyledonous plants.
