Abstract
Differences in the glucose content of arterial blood and renal venous blood simultaneously withdrawn from resting trained dogs were insignificant. No appreciable differences were obtained in fasting or fed animals or after injn. of insulin or a single injn. of glucose.. Considerable differences in arterial and renal venous blood sugar were obtained in animals excreting glucose during continuous injn. of glucose or following admn. of phlorhizin. The amt. of sugar found in the urine was less than that calculated as being removed from the blood during the same period. The amt. of sugar removed from the blood and which did not appear in the urine varied considerably in different expts. The amt. of sugar utilized by a kidney or the amt. of sugar formed by a kidney of the resting dog is less than the margin of errors inherent in the methods used for its detection. Keywords
