Abstract
The hexadecapole transition strength distribution is measured for the deformed nucleus using the (p,p’) reaction at =30 MeV. The experimental information on B(E4) values in this nucleus and in is interpreted in the framework of the sdg interacting boson model. It is found that the main features of the experimental data are fairly well reproduced by a Hartree-Bose method plus Tamm-Dancoff approximation.
