Abstract
Radiochemical data with F18 indicate that only 2% of the F ions on the cotton pledget are transferred to the tooth by topical application. 90% of the amt. of F18 transferred to the tooth is readily removed by a superficial rinsing. The 10% which remains on the tooth is confined to areas of discolored or carious enamel while the portion readily removed was located on the sound enamel. Keywords
