Abstract
Resistant variants of Mycobacteria to streptomycin are produced by a process of mutation regardless of the presence of the drug. An increase in the population of one parent strain is accompanied by an increase in the no. of variants to a given concn. of drug. Marked decreases of resistant forms occur with increased concns. of streptomycin. The degree of resistance increases by definite increments as the naturally resistant forms multiply. Apparently streptomycin in any concn. has no effect on forms resistant to a certain minimum concn. of the drug. Keywords
