Abstract
A 55-year-old woman with a pituitary tumor exhibited intermittent edema associated with periodic elevations of cortisoland its metabolites. Sig-nificant amounts of 11[beta], 17[beta], 20[beta], 21-tetrahydroxy-pregn-4-ene-3-one were identified in the urine. Aldosterone excretion was subnormal and there was no evidence of increased production of deoxycorticosterone. Keywords
