Study of theAr40(He3, d)K41reaction

Abstract
The Ar40(He3, d)K41 reaction has been studied at a bombarding energy of 18 MeV. The Ar40 target was contained in a gas cell with no entrance window. Excitation energies and angular distributions were obtained for 80 levels below Ex=7.8 MeV in K41. A distorted-wave analysis was used to determine l values and spectroscopic strengths. The proton configurations of K41 are examined in comparison with previous data on reactions and radioactive decay.
