Abstract
Cluster models of -Si were constructed. The neutron and infrared vibrational spectra of these clusters were calculated and found to be in good agreement with experiment. Our results show that certain strong and very narrow bands in the spectra of -Si may be assigned to bonds associated with reconstructed bonds on the internal surfaces of paracrystalline clusters.
