Abstract
• In one of the poorest countries of the world, accurate and precise information about blindness and eye disease is limited. After a brief background description of Ethiopia, the data available on ocular morbidity and the resources available to the country are discussed. General lack of infrastructure in Ethiopia remains an obstacle to provision of better eye care. Keywords
