Abstract
An empirical expression previously introduced by the authors, relating the reduced microhardness of binary tetrahedrally coordinated semiconductors to their ionicity, is shown to be applicable with minor modifications and with the same accuracy (15%) to the more complex class of ternary chalcopyrite semiconductors.Keywords
