Abstract
Neutrons produce damage in materials by means of recoil ions and charged secondary particles. The kerma deposited in five materials has been separated into displacement and ionization parts using Lindhard's work. The calculations require data on individual reactions, including angular distributions. Tables and graphs are presented for ~ 1 keV to 18 MeV neutrons on Si, CaF2, 6LiF, 7LiF, and natural LiF. The integrated response is given for a fission spectrum and for two fast reactor spectra. Keywords
