Abstract
Previous data on the structure of the elementary body were confirmed by the use of additional methods of fixation. The resistance of the elementary body to pepsin induced by osmium tetroxide is nullified by the addition of L-cysteine. The body lying in the center of the ring structure containing desoxyribonucleic acid is more resistant to pepsin than the peripheral layer especially in the weakly acid range (pH 3.0 - 4.5); therefore, under these conditions, it is regularly visible. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
