Abstract
Attraction of German yellowjackets, Vespula germanica (F.), to Nebraska Brands Feline Food (NBFF) baits was unaffected by all meat-grinding methods investigated. However, when finely ground into a meat paste, NBFF baits were not collected by yellowjackets. Boiled ham, a very lean meat, was far more acceptable to yellowjackets than was NBFF. Addition of insecticide to either NBFF or ham did not reduce yellowjacket attraction to or collection of meat baits. High acceptance of toxic ham baits suggests that they be evaluated for yellowjacket abatement. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
