Circulating Anti-AHG Anticoagulant in a Patient with Lupus Erythematosus Disseminatus

Abstract
A patient with disseminated lupus erythematosus developed severe bleeding manifestations. A study of the hemostatic mechanism revealed prolongation of the bleeding time and the presence of a circulating anticoagulant inhibiting antihemophilic globulin. ACTH and Prednisolone failed to improve the clinical picture and the laboratory findings. The administration of a cephalin complex intravenously improved the bleeding manifestations and corrected in part the clotting anomaly for a period of 48 hours.
