Abstract
Pretreatment of eggs of Rana pipiens with papain digested (univalent) anti-jelly serum, prior to insemination with normal spermatozoa, inhibits the fertilizability of these eggs just as does the undigested (multivalent) anti-jelly serum suggesting a direct blocking of receptor sites in the egg jelly that may perform a significant role(s) in fertilization. Keywords
