Abstract
The action of the enzyme hyaluronidase in destroying the viscosity of aqueous solns. of various polysaccharides was described. In addition to its being active against hyaluronic acid and the closely related polysaccharides from placenta and tumor mucin, it lowered the viscosity of chondroitin sulphate from bovine nasal septa. Methods were described for the prepn. of hyaluronic acid from umbilical cords, of chondroitin sulphate from bovine nasal septa and tracheal cartilage and of polysaccharides from a non malignant ovarian tumor and from commercial trypsin. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
