Abstract
This report reviews the various factors involved in the control of the renal excretion of phosphate and calcium. We discuss the effects of changes in glomerular filtration rate, renal vasodilatation, extracellular fluid volume expansion, diuretics, state of body stores of phosphate, acid-base status, diet, and various hormones. This physiological knowledge forms a background for the discussion of the abnormalities in the excretion of phosphate and calcium observed in various disease states.This publication has 89 references indexed in Scilit:
