Giant Marker Chromosome in Fanconi’s Anemia Transforming into Erythroleukemia in an Adult

Abstract
A 22-year-old patient diagnosed as having Fanconi’s plastic anemia turning to acute erythroleukemia is described. The diagnosis was based on congenital malformations, pancytopenia and the known chromosomal abnormalities. We call attention to the patient’s age at time of diagnosis, the turn into erythroleukemia, the cataracts and the giant marker chromosome in bone marrow cells – features that make this patient exceptional.
