Abstract
The concept of a tunable erbium-doped fiber ring laser based on a reflection Mach-Zehnder interferometer is presented. The principle of operation is demonstrated with a fiber version of the interferometer which gave a tuning range of 39 nm. With current electro-optic devices, high speed tuning should be possible. Keywords
