Abstract
Using the seminal vesicle of the immature castrate rat as a measure of androgenic effects and the levator ani muscle as a measure of anabolic action, the effectiveness of 6 anabolic agents was compared at series of dose levels. Assigning an anabolic/androgenic ratio of 1 to testosterone propionate, the following comparable ratios were obtained: testosterone, 0.8; methyl testosterone, 1.1; methyl androstenediol, 1.6; androstanolone, 1.9; 17-ethyl-19-nortestosterone (Nilevar), 14.9.Keywords
