SERUM PROTEIN STUDIES IN EXPERIMENTAL TUBERCULOSIS OF THE GUINEA PIG

Abstract
Total serum protein, serum albumin, serum globulin, and the albumin-globulin ratio were determined in guinea pigs, infected with the B88 strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis var. hominis and treated with corticotropin and cortisone, Streptomycin, and beryllium chloride. Increases were observed in total serum protein and serum globulin, and a decrease occurred in the albumin-globulin ratio of all infected groups in comparison with the values of a normal control group.
