Abstract
A case of cytomegaly of the submaxillary gland in an adult is recorded. The patient complained of inflammation of the left submaxillary gland, accompanied by pain during mastication and deglutition but was otherwise in good health. In the acini and ductules of the excised gland a few considerably enlarged cells containing eosinophil nuclear inclusion bodies separated from the margin-ated chromatin by a pale halo were found. Interstitial lymphoreticular infiltration was also observed.
