Abstract
Whole lens and cornea of rabbits exposed to X-irradiation (1000 r. ) were assayed 1, 4 and 14 days afterward for hexokinase and glutathione reductase activity. Corneal epithelium was assayed for hexokinase, glutathione reductase and isocitric dehydrogenase 4 and 14 days after X-irradiation. In spite of morphological changes under these conditions of irradiation, there was no alteration in enzyme content. A sensitive method for the assay of glutathione reductase in tissue is presented. Its activity in tissues of the rat, rabbit and calf is compared. Keywords
