Abstract
The nutritional requirements of 6 strains of Fusobacterium nucleatum were investigated employing a simplified basal medium composed of vitamin-free acid-hydrolyzed casein, glucose, L-cystine, DL-tryptophan, inorganic salts and synthetic B-vitamins. The micro-organisms showed absolute requirement for pantothenate. Pantothenol, pantetheine, and CoA were partially able to replace pantothenate. Adenine, hypoxanthine and 4 amino-5-imidazole carboxamide satisfied the purine requirements. Keywords
