Abstract
The continued high attack rate of gonorrhea in contrast to syphilis is emphasized. The findings are presented of an antibiotic quarantine program for the control of gonorrhea in which both male and female gonorrhea patients were given 2.4 million units of benzathine penicillin G; the females received identical retreatment at eight week intervals. This program was designed not only to cure current infection, but also to prevent reinfection over a prolonged period of time. The failure rate in females, as demonstrated by positive post-treatment cultures within 56 days after treatment, was 1 in 190.Keywords
