Abstract
Journal of Gerontological Nursing | Staff development and assignment are integrai to care in Alzheimer's Special Care Units (SCUs). Advocates call for more dementia-specific staff training, higher staff-to-resident ratios, and more consistent assignment of staff to residents (Alzheimer's Association, 1992; Aronson, 1994; Coons, 1987, 1991; Orr-Rainey, 1991).
