Abstract
The dependence of the long-range interactions between a Rydberg electron and an ionic core on the nuclear charge of the core is analyzed. It is pointed out that the nonadiabatic interaction will be most readily apparent in spectral-line measurements of systems belonging to the beryllium and boron isoelectronic sequences. A quantitative analysis is presented of data for Cl xiv. Keywords
