Abstract
A method is presented for the standardization of hemorrhagic shock in the unanesthetized dog. The method consists of the rapid detn. of the bleeding vol. followed immediately by infusion of 25% of the blood collected. This procedure requires less than 10 min. A fixed vol. of 10 ml. is subsequently withdrawn at half-hr. intervals. This method of bleeding invariably produces fatal hemorrhagic shock. In a series of 30 dogs on which this method was employed the survival time averaged 3 hrs. 45 min. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
