Abstract
The character of the radiation‐induced thermoluminescent glow peaks in LiF:Mg (70 ppm and 100 ppm by spectrographic analysis) is affected by pre‐irradiation isothermal annealing. For pre‐irradiation annealing below 100°C the kinetics of one of the glow peaks which appears at about 105°C has been correlated with the annealing kinetics of quenched‐in Mg++—cation vacancy complexes as measured by dielectric loss techniques. After the samples have been annealed for one hour at 400°C and cooled in about 3 min to room temperature, almost all of the magnesium is found to be associated with cation vacancies. The 105°C glow peak associated with the Mg++—cation vacancy complex is proportional to the measured number of these complexes in the two samples. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
