Abstract
Summary: This paper reports an investigation into evidence of renal dysfunction following methoxyflurane analgesia for burns dressings. Twelve patients were studied and small increases in serum uric acid were observed in all of them. This increase may have been dose-related. Four patients had small but consistent increases in blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine on the third post-dressing day. No definite conclusions can be adduced and further research is needed. Keywords
