Abstract
Precession measurements have been performed on nuclear-excited nitrogen ions recoiling in magnetized iron employing the implantation perturbed-angular-correlation technique. The transient magnetic field, calibrated with the () state, was found to be enhanced by a factor of 2.1(5) over the empirically adjusted Lindhard-Winther prediction. A negative sign was determined for this factor and a value of for that of the state.
