Abstract
Electrophoretic heterogeneity in a set of selected proteins is used to estimate the average error frequency during translation. Estimates based upon streptomycin-induced heterogeneity as well as mistranslation of an ochre codon yield an average error frequency of 4x10-4 for normally growing cells.This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
