Abstract
A measurement using a crossed beam method has been performed on the ratio of excitation cross-sections from the Cd(II) ground state to the upper state 5s2 2D5/2 (Beutler state) and the lower state 5p 2P3/2 of the Cd(II) 441.6 nm laser line by electron impact. It has been found that the two cross-sections are of the same order at an electron energy of 13 eV.Keywords
