METABOLIC EFFECTS IN MAN OF THE ACETICACID ANALOGUES OF THYROXINE AND TRIIODOTHYRONINE

Abstract
Triiodo-thyroacetic acid (triac) and tetraiodothyroacetic acid (tetrac) were studied in 2 patients with myxedema. Effects on O2 consumption, serum cholesterol level, urinary creatine, and N and P balances were similar to those of triiodothyronine and thyroxine, but triac and tetrac were considerably less potent.
