Abstract
Wilkinson in the Venereal Disease Reference Laboratory in the London Hospital performed the fluorescent treponemal antibody test on the sera of 167 presumed normal individuals, 158 patients with treated or untreated treponemal disease and 144 "problem" sera. The test is relatively simple to perform and preliminary results suggest that it has a high level of sensitivity and specificity. Keywords
