Neutrino-induced reactions onC12within the continuum random phase approximation

Abstract
Motivated by recent experiments we have studied νe and νμ induced charged- and neutral-current reactions on C12 within the continuum random phase approximation employing two different residual interactions. We find good agreement with the measured cross sections for the νe reactions, while our calculation signficantly differs from recently measured νμ cross sections. Our calculation indicates that the measurements of the total C12(νe,e )12 N* cross sections are consistent with the total C12(μ,νμ )12 B* capture rate.
