Abstract
Evidence suggests that the conversion of L-rhamnose to L-rhamnulose by rhamnose-grown E. coli is followed by a phosphorylation of the ketose. Analytical studies on the phos-phorylated sugar indicate that the newly formed compound is L-rhamnulose-1-phosphate.Keywords
