Abstract
An experimental study of Lalpha emission from collisions of H+/D+ with laser excited Na*(3p) for ion impact energies of 50 eV amu-1-15 keV amu-1 is presented. Good agreement is found with experimental and theoretical investigations by other authors. For the first time the maximum Lalpha enhancement for capture from excited Na*(3p) compared with ground state Na(3s) around 200 eV H+ impact energy as predicted by Allan et al. (1986) could be experimentally verified. Keywords
