Abstract
Two new species of Stephos, S. lucayensis ♀, ♂ and S. exumensis ♀ are described and figured. They were both obtained in an Ockelmann detritus sledge in shallow water. Only one specimen of S. exumensis was found. S. lucayensis was fairly common and was also caught once in a plankton tow-net at night. The S. lucayensis male differs from other members of the genus by having a complex hyaline sheath over the genital segment. The fifth legs of the male are very similar to those of S. tsuyazakiensis. S. exumensis is distinguished from other species by its heavily armed genital segment. S. arcticus and S. sinuatus are considered to be synonymous.
