Abstract
An historical review of the name Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Schroeter) Migula is presented. The morphological and physiological characteristics, including electron micrographs and a photomicrograph of a stained preparation, are presented in Lysenko's proposed neotype strain (ATCC 10145, NCTC 10332, NCIB 8295, IBCAS 277, NRRL B-771, CCEB 481, RH 815) of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This strain is compared with several other proposed neotype strains. The authors support the proposal by Lysenko and request an Opinion on this proposal by the Judicial Commission of the International Committee on Bacteriological Nomenclature. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
