Abstract
Urine from the normal rat collected eight hours after subcutaneous injection contained 65-70% of the injected 8-C14 aminonucleoside of puromycin (P-A), 55% of which was unchanged; whereas comparable figures for the nephrotic rat were 15.6% and 49%, respectively. Feces contained 26% and 8-12% of the injected radioactivity in the normal and nephrotic rats; kidneys contained 0.2% and 4%, respectively. The decreased recovery of radioactivity in the nephrotic rats with ascites was explained by distribution in an expanded pool of body water. Keywords
