Abstract
Some theoretical aspects and a method for computation of glucose "space" are described. In 81 normal men 105 studies were performed, using either a single injection or continuous infusion technique. Data are presented which support the derived equations. No evidence indicated that excess insulin is released in response to the intravenous administration of glucose. The volume of distribution of glucose is discussed and evidence suggests an expansion of this "space" which increased blood sugar levels. Keywords
