Abstract
Generalized anoxemia without ischemia can induce pain in an exercising skeletal muscle. Within certain limits the severity and rapidity of onset of the pain vary with the degree of anoxemia and with the rate of exercise of the muscles involved. The pain appears to be due to the accumulation of products of muscular metabolism that require O2 for their disposal. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
