Measurement of the transition probability of the2s2S01−2s3pP1o3intercombination line in Ne VII

Abstract
The lifetimes of the 2s3pP0,1,2o3 levels in Ne VII have been measured by the observation of transitions to the 2s3sS13 level with the use of the beam-foil excitation method. The results are τ(PJo3)=1.7(1),1.0(1), and 1.9(1) nsec for the J=0,1, and 2 levels, respectively. The smaller value for J=1 is due to a J-allowed decay channel to 2s2S01, and implies a transition probability of 4.3(6) × 108 sec1 for this intercombination line.
