Abstract
Elastase and elastase inhibitor are reported for male and female plasmas covering an age range of from 18 months to 87 years. Marked changes with age were observed; there appears to be an inverse relationship between both inhibitor and elastase level and the content of lipid in the plasma in the case of females. Chronic lipemia may result in the depletion of the pancreas of elastase. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
