Abstract

A precision measurement of the

Λ^{0}

lifetime

τ_{Λ}

and the branching ratio

R = \frac{(Λ \to p π^{-})}{(Λ \to all)}

has been carried out. The results are

τ_{Λ} = (2.54 \pm 0.04) \times 10^{- 10}

sec and

R = 0.646 \pm 0.008

. The errors include both the statistical errors and our estimate of the systematic errors.
