Abstract
We study the current transmission through a nonideal interface between two different metals. The exact equations relating the electron distribution functions in the bulk of metals are obtained. These equations take into account the specular scattering of electrons from the contacting surface as well as the diffusive scattering from defects at the interface. A specific resistance of contact is calculated. The approach makes it possible to take into account the nonideality of the interface in a rigorous way. Keywords
