ETHIONAMIDE JAUNDICE

Abstract
A case of liver dys-function and jaundice is reported in a tuberculous diabetic patient treated with [alpha]-ethylthioisonicotamide (ethionamide) and streptomycin. The patient recovered when the ethionamide was discontinued. A temporary recrudescence was noted when an attempt was made to employ streptomycin and isoniazid before the liver function completely returned to normal. Three weeks later, the stretpomycin and isoniazid were tolerated without further difficulty.
