Abstract
Minced muscle and liver of normal rats produce glycogen from glucose-1-phosphate in vitro. After starvation, if the glycogen content falls below 200 mg./100 g., glycogen is not formed by the minced muscle and liver unless glycogen is added. There is a decrease in the glycogen content in liver and muscle of adrenalectomized, adynamic rats and glycogen is formed only if glycogen is added to the minced tissue.
