Abstract
The plasmonic bands of a periodic array of stripes are investigated for a class of continuous equilibrium density profiles within the frictionless and dispersionless hydrodynamical model. The attention has been focused on the behavior of the frequencies at large values of parallel wave vector. In this range we have found a strong localization of plasmons at the point of minimum density in the cell. The effect of a vanishing minimum density is also studied. Keywords
